The results are in and it is clear that our Math Improvement Program (MIP) significantly increases student achievement in FBE Mathematics as measured by the FBE exams. The program was tested through a limited implementation in only a few schools on Sint Maarten. Although this allowed for a good comparison with schools that are under similar conditions, its implementation was restricted only to Cycle 2 to allow for quick evaluation during the testing phase.
Implementation began in August 2019 and its first cohort of students sat the FBE exam in 2021 since there was no exam in 2020 due to the COVID 19 pandemic. In 2022, its second cohort of students sat the exam and the data reveals that students who are part of the MIP significantly outperform their peers.
